Social media is a free marketing tool every business needs to utilize

One of the best and most inexpensive ways to market your business is by using social media.

Now it can be very difficult to figure out which social media platforms are the best to help your business grow and which ones won’t make a difference. Here’s some advice:

Look at your competition

Pick 4-5 companies that are within your field and look at which platforms they use. If you see that most of them use Facebook, create a Facebook page for your business and so on.

If you’re not sure how to utilize the social media platform to help your business, once again take a look at how your competition utilizes the different platforms.

Select 2-3 social media platforms

Don’t overwhelm yourself but creating a bunch of social media accounts for your business because you’ll only be creating more work for yourself and it may not pay off if you end up using a platform that won’t help your business grow.

So, at first just pick 2-3 social media platforms to start.

Choose platforms that make sense

If you run a beauty salon for instance, Twitter likely won’t make sense. But Instagram, Facebook and maybe Pinterest would be good options. So take some time to brainstorm and think about what makes sense for your company.

At the end of the day, social media is a free tool that allows you to market your brand. Now of course you can pay for advertising, but you don’t have to. And if you play your cards right, your business will grow and flourish because of the way you manage your social media accounts.
